Cafe Bar Pasta

I finally made my way to Cafe Bar Pasta for a tasting of their delicious menu offerings, in time to toast with them a “Happy One-Year Anniversary”.

We sat at the front, looking out onto the busy Dundas West street of… a random mix of people. (I love people watching, especially when I eat… feels very, Paris)

I started with the Local Bufala Mozzarella salad, with baby arugula, heriloom tomatoes, carrot curl and black garlic vinaigrette, then I dived into the gnocci. I am a picky girl when it comes to (everything) gnocci, mainly because my Italian mother makes a dish so fine, it rivals Beyonce’s face. However, I will give this dish a thumbs up, and recommend it as a must-try on the menu.  They recently changed their menu, updating the gnocci I had to a different offering… so, bonus, we all get to go back and try it again!

And as for dessert, because really, who doesn’t have dessert… owner Tom send over a delicious plate of chocolate tortellini (yup, you read right) with a coconut filling. It was so good, I could’ve chewed on the plate.

Thanks, Cafe-Bar-Pasta… see you again.
