#TheWorldIsListening

If you read my blog regularly, you will see I often chat about things I am doing and things that inspire my actions. I love when people are brave enough to pursue what they love, and even with a million obstacles, they work to make a career out of their passion. That is probably why I cry and re-watch singing competitions… but anyway.

Check out this awesome campaign that I stumbled upon last week (and now wish I really had some kind of musical talent). I love how this campaign works to give young musicians hope, and inspires them to keep on following their dreams (just like Ri-Ri).

“When a door closes you have 2 choices: give up or keep going; let them shut you down, or prove them wrong. We all start somewhere, it’s where you end up that counts.” –Rihanna, #theworldislistening

This campaign brings together mega starts like Rihanna and up ‘n coming artists, and gives musical hopefuls a chance to catapult into the spotlight.

“#TheWorldIsListening” campaign revolves around a website, www.grammyamplifier.com, which allows musicians to share their tracks via SoundCloud for a chance to have their music tweeted out by a panel of music icons, including Linkin Park, RZA, and Snoop Lion.”

“This year’s campaign highlights the raw emotion and desire of the artist’s journey, and is amplified via social media in order to draw more music fans into an engaged music conversation,” said Evan Greene, Chief Marketing Officer of The Recording Academy.

In February 2012, the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards generated over 13 million social media comments marking it as the largest social media event in the history of television at the time. In light of last year, this years campaign materials all prominently feature the hashtag #TheWorldIsListening, this is the first time in GRAMMY history and a prominent hat tip to social media’s role in GRAMMY’S telepresence.

Tune into the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards on Sunday, Feb. 10! And be sure to follow me on twitter, fashion police-ing it up! @laurenmarias @thegrammys #theworldislistening
