Time Flies

Where has the summer gone? It is already August 1st and I can almost smell Fall fashion… which I very much enjoy.

Distillery District

However, lets soak up these last bits of summer while we can! I have been spending some time shooting for clients in the Distillery District these past few days, and I can’t help but feel like I am wandering the streets of Europe while I am there. I often wonder why the city hasn’t designed the whole of it to look like the Distillery, with unique art installations and European inspired cobblestone roads. If you haven’t yet, take some time this August to roam the area and hit up the cafes and restaurants.

New to the area is El Catrin Restaurant. A mexican treat, with a unique look and feel. I am looking very forward to checking this place out… I mean, you can never have enough guac! If you’ve been already (I, sadly, had to miss the opening) tweet me and tell me about your experience @laurenmarias!

It has really been a summer for the beach, and I have spent a fair share of my time soaking up some rays on the East side of Toronto.  Sometimes I can be a West side snob, as I have grown up and spent most of my life never crossing more east than St. Lawrence Market… but I can absolutely see why people spend (so much) money to live in the beach. You are a walk from a beautiful beach front, it is way quieter than the craziness of central Toronto, and it honestly feels like you aren’t even in the city.  I intend to spend more time there this August, hope to see you beach side!

Happy long weekend, folks! What do you recommend I check out this August?
