Waking Up Fresh

When you are trying to eat healthy and need some delicious menu choices, do I what I do… head to one of the 4 Fresh restaurant locations. I can sometimes be a creature of habit, and always lean towards ordering the same favourites BUT this week they are launching their brand new menu with some awesome new choices!

My personal favourite is the Buddha Bowl: soba noodles in thai peanut sauce with marinated tofu cubes, tomato, cilantro, cucumber, bean sprouts, chopped peanuts, herbs & spices.

And wash it down with a delicious shake, like the date almond shake with almond butter, dates, maple syrup, banana, cinnamon and almond milk. It is a perfect pick me up mid-day, when (like me) you have might have at least 4 more meetings to power through.  I usually pass on the maple syrup, to just eliminate some of the sugar content… and trust me, it is still so good.

“The Grapefruit Glow”

10 leaves fresh mint

1/2 cucumber

1/2 lemon

3 grapefruit ruby red

A splash of sparkling mineral water & agave nectar

Juice the cucumber, lemon & grapefruit first.  Blend with the fresh mint & agave nectar.  Pour into a tall glass with a splash of sparkling mineral water. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint!
